Walker/Founder

Every walk I take is, in some small way, for Neptune — paying him back for all the love he gave to me.

I’ve been a dog person since birth. I trained my own first dog at 12, and somewhere in our after-school walks I figured out that moving through the world with a dog is one of the most grounding things a human being can do. Time to migrate. Time to bond. Time to just be a pack.

I live in Woodberry and have for 16 years. Druid Hill Park is my front yard — a pocket of wilderness inside dense urban infrastructure — and I know these streets the way you only can when you’ve walked them thousands of times. I bike all over the city, I’m Pet and Human First Aid/CPR certified, and I show up. Every day, in every neighborhood I work in, I’m a regular. A known face. Part of the fabric.

I started Deez Muttz after losing Neptune — my soul dog, a once or twice in a lifetime connection. Walking dogs professionally was my way of keeping that part of my life alive. And somewhere along the way, my clients became friends, just like I’ve become friends with their pets.

I founded Deez Muttz as a worker-owned cooperative with the intention of pushing for community development, social justice, and making work livable for our members. We do things differently — and we think that matters.

Need a walk on a Saturday? No problem — and no penalty. We don’t charge weekend surcharges or late-notice booking fees (we just let you know if we can do it), no full price for an extra dog, or extra for additional cats in the same household. Other dog walking services and platforms will fee you to death. I don’t. Your bill is your bill.

Boarding is available on a case by case basis once I’ve met your dog and know their needs. In-home sits are priced by the day — we come to you, we keep your pet in their space, and we keep their routine intact. Reach out and we’ll talk it through.
